Samsung revealed their new consumer range at the recent Unbox and Discover event. New smart TVs are being introduced, including the Neo QLED series made for gamers, microLED TVs, updates to The Frame series, and a new Q-Series soundbar.
“The role of the TV in our lives has grown—and in 2021, Samsung continues to redefine the role of TV around the needs and passions of consumers,” said James Fishler, Senior Vice President, Home Entertainment Division, Samsung Electronics America.
MicroLED TV 2021
Samsung is looking to provide consumers with microLED television sets this year. Users can expect better brightness, deeper blacks, and higher-quality imaging with microLED technology. LEDs are inorganic and assist in preventing burn-in while maintaining the screen’s vibrancy.
In 2018, the display tech was implemented in The Wall, a configurable system of modules that could grow to 292 inches. This system was professional-installed and for home and office use if you had the funds.
Next year, the company will offer microLED as a TV alternative. By the end of March 2021, the company plans to offer 110-inch and 99-inch models globally, as well as an 88-inch version, while a 76-inch model is on the table, too. MicroLED TVs can use the 4Vue (Quad View) feature to display four separate screens at once.
Neo QLED TV 2021
The company also unveiled new QLED TVs, which they are calling Neo QLED, at CES 2021. Neo Quantum-powered, the firm is utilizing new Quantum mini LEDs that are reportedly 40% smaller than conventional LEDs. According to Samsung, these enhance light control, deep blacks, bright lights, and upscale-upscaling technology.
Additionally, Samsung is currently interested in gaming as it is a major sponsor of Xbox One in the United States and Canada. New agreement: Samsung and Xbox will work together on future gaming products for the next several years. Expect 120fps and a 5.8ms response time for the range. The Neo QLED lineup is the first TV to include AMD’s Freesync Premium Pro for both PC and consoles for improved HDR. Other tools and features will also be included in the gaming range, which includes Samsung’s new Game Bar and Super Ultrawide Gameview.
Finally, the series will offer fitness-oriented features. Samsung Health now includes Smart Trainer as a component of the Neo QLED. The Smart Trainer will analyze your posture using AI, and give you real-time feedback so you can practice and refine your form.
8K 65-inch, 75-inch, and 85-inch QN800A and QN900A Samsung Neo QLEDs will be released this year. Meanwhile, 4K models will be offered in a wider selection of sizes from 50-inches on up.
The Frame 2021
It is also releasing an update to its ‘The Frame’ series in 2017. Users are now able to store up to 1,200 UHD photos in the Art Store’s photo storage. The new range will be 23.9mm thick, and now comes with a new Slim Fit Wall Mount. My Shelf, a new Samsung accessory, will be offered in black, beige, brown, and white. These will work with 55-, 65-, and 75-inch Frame TVs.
