Reliance Jio is always keen in producing cheaper gadgets to empower rural people. Jio Phone is a good example for that, it sold millions and millions of it which was primarily contributed by rural and low class people and made 4G easily accessible. Continuing this Xda recently claimed about the development of Jio Book, a budget Android laptop.
At the beginning of 2018, Qualcomm Technologies’ senior product management manager, Miguel Nunes, told The Economic Times that the US chipmakers had held talks with Jio and started mobile laptops. Almost three years later Jio appears finally to develop a product based on the hardware of Qualcomm but the used components and software differed.
Reliance Jio Book Processor:
The Jio Book is an affordable laptop which mainly focuses for students. The report says JioBook is running on Android based JioOS rather than on Windows 10. A Snapdragon 665 SoC, an 11nm chipset, is supported by the laptop.
Documents show Jio is partnering with Bluebank Communication Technology, a China-based company. The company develops mobile devices and third party software. Since early September 2020, JioBook has been in development and is scheduled for launch in H1 2021.
The laptop’s monitor will have a resolution of 1366×768 pixels. At this time, the screen size is undisclosed. Bluebank reviewed a model with 2GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 32GB of eMMC storage, as well as a model with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB of eMMC 5.1 storage.
