Recently, Twitter has been internally testing a number of features aimed at enabling new revenue sources for the business. One of the many methods used by the social media behemoth is a feature called “Super Follow,” which allows users to receive additional benefits from accounts they follow.
Jane Manchun Wong, a well-known software reverse engineer, discovered the feature and shared a screenshot of what the “Super Follow” button will look like. The button is available in two sizes: a small circular button and a large pill-shaped button with the text “Super Follow” inside.
It’s unclear exactly what advantages you get from Super Following an account. One of the benefits is the opportunity to post exclusive content on Twitter Fleets that can only be used and commented on by accounts that “Super follow” them.
The company is also experimenting with a direct “tipping button,” a more monochromatic colour scheme for the user interface, and a new font named “Chirp.”
