Night modes have rolled out to all of Google apps since 2019. As per the reports from 9to5 google now Google Maps, the last big holdout, is about to get its dark style.
Google Maps dark theme has been widely released tonight following last week’s announcement. It’s for both the map layer and menus. Some design changes include how the ocean is pitch black, with various elements and buttons having an outlined or raised shadow. Overall, the night mode is rather blue.
You may also alter it from the Settings > Theme tab. Force stopping the Maps application is recommended because you should have the latest version (10.61.2) of the application available on the Play Store.

For Google Maps for Android, the pill-shaped lookup area, carousel of search recommendations, and bottom bar are light gray. If you open FAB and go to the blue page, you have arrived. Lighter shades are used for path and name layers when zooming in. All pins and icons have been similarly sized.
This night mode is here to save your eyes from strain and power. Early in September, it was first seen during server-side testing. However, these only received it, but have kept it ever since. In the last few days, the emphasis has turned away from the trend.
Once you’re alive, you’ll be welcomed with a “New! Maps in Dark Theme” sheet that presents three standard options. It can also be controlled by Settings > Theme. This main look can be set independently of the navigation appearance, which is already in a night-friendly mode.
