OnePlus (in short OP), a brand praised by tech enthusiasts then is now a premium brand with huge change around in its strategy and marketing. Continuing this the company’s CEO Pete Lau announced their collaboration with Oppo brand to improve their products portfolio and capitalize on the resources of Oppo to build better products in the future. So let’s have a closer look at what Oneplus has to say about this new collaboration.
OnePlus – Oppo Collaboration:
Pete Lau claims that this move is the result of their strategy to give more choices to users than before from the brand. This substantially indicates the company’s entry into the TV market, smartwatch market, and introduction of smartphones at various price ranges instead of only targeting the flagship segment which requires lots of resources and team.
Faster Software Updates:
He also claims that the collaboration would let them work in an efficient manner which eventually allows them to provide software updates faster.
"I’m confident that this change will be positive for our community and our users. With this deeper integration with OPPO, we will have more resources at hand to create even better products for you. It will also allow us to be more efficient, for example, bringing faster and more stable software updates for OnePlus users." -Pete Lau
Still an independent brand:
Both brands have previously partnered on a number of projects. The OP team was united with Oppo last year, and the results were great. As a result, the company has decided to make future devices even more integrated. Furthermore, even when the brands are integrated, they will continue to work independently.
"As for the OnePlus brand – we will continue to operate independently, focused on providing you with the best possible products and experience as we have always done."
They may release the OP Nord 2 smartphone next month as a result of the integration. However, these facts about the smartphone’s release are yet to be confirmed, but it will be the first device to combine Oppo and OnePlus.
