This year’s Note 10 series bestows the most modest specifications. There are many budget buyers who won’t care about this, but it provides good features in a middle-of-the-the-the-road manner. It’s equipped with a large battery, fast charging support, a speedy processor, and a large screen. Here is our in-depth Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 review.
This is one of the three devices that was launched. So there is Redmi note 10 10 pro and the 10 pro max. If you need the other do devices to feature in our channel then let me know in the comment section below. So let’s unbox the device. Xiaomi has introduced the new “Evol” design for the Redmi Note 10 (series). The main thing that sets smartphones apart is the camera module at the back. The lenses are in varying sizes and they all bulge by about 1 mm to the back panel. The device comes in 3 different colors globally that is the Onyx Gray, Pebble White, and Lake Green. , As far as I know, the white has a beautiful mat finish which helps to hide the fingerprint smudges but in my onyx gray color, we get a glossy finish at the back which is a fingerprint magnet. Thanks to the 6.43-inch screen and its manageable bezel area makes the Redmi Note 10 easy to hold. even one-handed It is much easier to handle, as well,
The Redmi Note 10 offers an AMOLED screen in this segment. Redmi Note 10 also features an FHD+ (2,400 x 1,080) panel with a 100 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 Wide Color Gamut and a tiny punch hole at the top. While the 6.4-inch display is limited to 60Hz in terms of refresh rate, the color accuracy, and dynamic range are outstanding for the price. You can always customize the color profiles, but I feel that the default settings are good enough for any kind of viewing. HDR10 certification is unsurprisingly missing from the device, but WideVine L1 gives you access to HD content on OTT platforms. Redmi Note 10 also boasts almost 1100 nits of screen brightness, making outdoor viewing a piece of cake in the harsh sunlight. The 1100 nits can only be achieved by going to settings> display > brightness level > sunlight mode. You can adjust the color tone or switch to Reading Mode which makes everything appear warmer, which Xiaomi says can reduce eye strain.
PROCESSOR, GAMING, and BENCHMARK:
Under the hood is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 678, a newly released upper mid-range SoC which is the enhanced version of the Snapdragon 675. It has two Kryo 460 Gold CPU cores running at 2.2GHz (compared to 2GHz in its predecessor) and the same six Kryo 460 Silver cores running at 1.7Ghz in low-power situations. On top of that, you also get the new Adreno 612 GPU which boasts of an 800MHz clock speed. These are the benchmark test done on this device. In my testing, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare runs smoothly at High graphics. Minor stuttering and the back of the phone got warm after about 15 minutes
There are either 4GB or 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB or 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage based on which variant you choose.
MIUI can be intimidating from the start, and is complicated because of the vast array of features and options it offers. But once you’ve started using it, you’ll grow to like it. Reachability gestures, button shortcuts for commonly used functions, and sidebars like that work without a hitch.
It was good to see Android 11 on a budget phone out of the box. The latest Android version brings new features, but MIUI’s iOS style center is very useful for certain tasks.
Having said that, there is no lack of bloatware in MIUI, and some pre-installed apps continuously request your attention by sending out alerts. Then there are individual Xiaomi apps that want you to agree to terms and policies after you’ve agreed to MIUI’s terms while setting up the phone — even the calculator app bothers you about it. Asking for a user’s permission to use data is acceptable, but this is clearly excessive. Xiaomi claims that the upcoming MIUI 12.5 update will include the ability to uninstall most of this garbage, which is a welcome and much-needed step.
MIUI is also known for being overly aggressive when it comes to killing background apps. While notifications from messaging apps such as WhatsApp came through without a hitch, my to-do app and password manager consistently failed to function normally. The only solution is to either pin the apps or disable battery optimization.
On the other hand, battery life is excellent, and with casual use, the 5000mAh battery can comfortably get you through an entire day at full charge and still have some juice leftover. Even with heavier use and more applications open in the background, as well as some intense gaming sessions, even with the vigorous MIUI optimization switched off, the phone lasted an entire workday. Without a doubt, one of the regular Note 10’s strongest points is its battery performance. The included 33W charger charges the device in about 70 minutes.
Now come to the cameras. The cameras on the rear have a quad-camera set up with a 48-megapixel primary sensor, this is the Sony Imx 582 along with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with a 2-megapixel macro camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor on the front side of which you get a 13-megapixel selfie camera. By default, the phone takes photos in 12MP; you will need to choose the 48MP setting Manually. I find the camera app to be complicated. To use the 48 Megapixel mode or macro you need to head over to more options.
The camera output is promising and also amazed me at times. These pictures say that. 48Mp shots are very good at daylighting conditions but the drawback is at 48mp mode we don’t have those HDR or AI options. Always remember you will achieve better picture quality when you turn on the AI and HDR more. The colors do pop and the exposure is good. Between the wide and the regular model, we can see a huge color shift which we can see in many devices but this one seems to be huge. This phone doesn’t oversaturate like most models in this price range do. Indoors, details tend to get lost, Pictures become grainy, but colors are still good.
Overall, I agree that this area could have been improved. The 2MP macro sensor is there mostly for padding up the camera system. Its output lacks detail while the distance of focus is also more at 4cm. Most photos take too much detail, with the macro mode, but the colors look just fine.
Turning to lower-light photography, the Redmi Note turns out to be excellent. They seemed to do well in the low-light situation, as well as in regular lighting. That allowed accurate colors are great to be obtained in this instance.
The Note 10’s front camera focuses a lot on sharpening the face, although a constant dynamic range is maintained. Hit or miss skin tones, the portrait mode gets the subject detail and color tone just right.
AUDIO, CALL QUALITY & SECURITY
The fingerprint reader on the side and the face unlock works extremely well. They are snappy which I liked the most. The on-board stereo speakers will make your gaming sessions even more enjoyable. They are placed diagonally on either side of the phone, allowing audio to come in from at least one side at all times. However, I would not suggest using them in a noisy setting because the maximum volume is anemic. you can’t expect much better at the price. I did not have any issues with 4G connections and call Quality. Also earpiece quality and microphone are also good
For me, I didn’t find any major issues with the Redmi Note 10 especially for the price it offers it excels in many aspects. With a few odd anomalies to be aware of, I have found the best budget smartphone in quite a while. With a stunning AMOLED display, nice cameras, fast-performing processor, and large battery, it’s going to be hard to find any other device at this price point.
|Stunning display||Macro shooter is not good enough|
|Beautiful design||Haptics are not up to the mark|
|Fast performing Processor|
|Included fast charging 33w brick|
